About Our Programs
Prequalifications:
We believe firmly that everyone should be involved in our martial arts programs at some point during their life. However, for kids in our program, we also understand that providing food for the table and a roof over their head are the most important things. For any of our programs or specials, we do have a few prequalifications before being able to join. These include being able to provide transportation to and from the facility, actively supporting them during classes, being currently employed with a checking or savings account, etc. Again, the most important thing is that the home expenses are covered first before joining martial arts. A solid home base will help your child go far in life!
BLACK BELT CLUB
Many students initially join the Black Belt Club and receive advanced training and training in single weapons. Black Belt Club members train in the mid-range bo staff, single stick, gun defense, knife defense, single nunchaku, and board breaking. These weapons and equipment are included with the All-Inclusive Elite Programs. Students will train with a different weapon every 8 weeks.
The Black Belt Club program commitment varies from 14 to 24 months depending on age and location. And enrolling multiple members in this programs allows for huge family discounts! Students in this program still attend 2-3 classes per week, 40 minutes each. In the additional time in every Black Belt Club class, this is when students will receive the advanced training, conditioning, and weapons training.
Upon enrollment in the Black Belt Club, you will receive the 1-year subscription to the ATA magazine, the school patch, the uniform, and white belt. Black Belt Club members are signified with a solid black stripe that runs through their belt, as you will see many of at Pearcys Taekwondo. Upon enrollment into this program, you will also get your Black Belt Club patch, which goes just below the seam of the left sleeve of your uniform. Class times are tracked on blue cards for Black Belt Club members.
LEADERSHIP
The Leadership Program is a reserved program for only those who demonstrate great leadership skills both in and out of Taekwondo class. Members of the Leadership Program get all of the training that the basic and Black Belt Club members get, and more! You will also be trained in double nunchakus, double kamas, sword, sais, long range bo staff, pressure points, joint locks, advanced kicks, many life skills, and tournament training.
The Leadership Program is a 14-24 month program depending on rank, and is for those dedicated to learning the art of Taekwondo and taking the journey to black belt and beyond. As a member of the leadership program, you will be able to attend 3 hours of advanced training weekly, which is almost twice as much as Black Belt Club. Leadership members will also receive an excellent Leadership manual with monthly life skill themes that you will learn about during classes, not to mention a heavyweight uniform with your name and a collar on it. Leadership members are privileged to wear belts with gold stripes running through the middle of the belt, and also receive the gold leadership patch upon enrollment. Leadership members use the red cards for class time tracking.
Anyone over the age of 7 can join the Leadership Program. Students can even join leadership on their first day of class. Students can also become eligible to receive a certificate of recommendation by demonstrating great black belt attitude in and out of class, showing respect to other students, instructors, and their parents. Leadership members will also be able to showcase their talents at the many public demonstrations that Pearcys Taekwondo does throughout the year. Once a student becomes a black belt, this is one of the two programs offered to our black belts. Master Club is a program for black belts that is very similar to Black Belt Club, but the majority of black belts choose to seek perfecting their skills as a black belt by joining the Leadership Program. However, there is no rank requirement to become a member of the Leadership Program. Students of any rank, even white belt, can become Leadership members if they demonstrate the proper attitude in and out of class.
CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
The Certified Instructor Training (CIT) Program is for those of you who have learned so much from Taekwondo that you would like to give back by passing along your knowledge to others. Upon enrollment into the program, you will receive a heavyweight uniform, complete with trainee or junior trainee collar depending on your age, leadership patches, your name on your uniform, and the leadership manual. Once a member of the CIT program, you will also be eligible to compete for state champion in forms, sparring, or weapons. As a colored belt, your belts will also have the gold stripe running through them, signifying you are a Leadership member.
As a member of the Certified Instructor Training program, you will be required to accomplish certain tasks before graduating to your next trainee collar. There will be many special classes and seminars that will be offered to you, much like a Taekwondo college. All of these classes will help you towards becoming a certified instructor, just like Mr. and Mrs. Pearcy. For students up to the age of 14, they will first wear a junior trainee red, white, and blue collar before graduating to the trainee red collar. After completing many goals as a red collar, you will graduate to certified trainer, which is a half red and black collar. The next level is called a specialty trainer, which is a black collar with a red stripe through the middle of it, before finally achieving the full black collar rank of certified instructor. Students that would like to become members of the CIT program must demonstrate exceptional attitude, a great willingness to learn, and pass along their knowledge to others.
